"Oh, that idiot boat!" Annie says, both to and in front of herself. "I meant, my home, not the "home"!" She emphasises airquotes around the word "home," because it was never much of one.
The younger Annie looks on... confused, possibly bewildered, though no onlooker would say her blank expression betrayed any such emotion.
"I'm sorry," our Annie says, "I didn't mean to bother you, I'm--" and is again interrupted."
"Me," the younger Annie says. "From the future."
