Annie and her dinghy land in front of a fence in front of a house in a residential area.

"Wait," Annie realises, "this is New York, but I live in--" But before she can finish the thought, she's interrupted.
"Hello," says a young girl with curly hair, "I'm Annie Who are you?"

The two Annies look at each other as the older one realises where she is, and sees she's standing in front of the place she lived what feels like a hundred years ago -- Miss Asthma's Home For Children.
