Annie looks shocked to find she's thrown a watermelon at a stranger.
Flashing back, we find Eddie, happily sniffing a mint plant.
A stranger -- the woman he stumbled away from -- approaches him and tries to get his attention. She speaks, but he can't hear what she's saying over his earbuds, and doesn't seem to notice she's even there, until she gets right in his face.
The woman's unintelligible speech fades into intelligibility. "...Okay, sure, I'll say the line," she says. "Besides my dime..."
Taking his earbuds out, Eddie starts to ask "Can I help you?" but is interrupted.
"I always carry a knife."
About a minute after the watermelon event, Annie, Ennis, and Phoenix surround the strange woman. She's sat against the wall, and Ennis is kneeled in front of her, asking her questions.
"I thought your... friend was somebody else," she answers. "I do not carry a knife or any other weapon."
"So why did you--"
"Because I thought your friend was somebody else. You never say something weird to a stranger you mistook for a friend?"
