Holding the paddles, one in front of her face, the other like a long spear, Annie asks "Now how do I operate this thing?"
"By paddling, presumably?" Eddie says.
"No, it's some kind of magic contraption. Wait, how did you get here?"
"There was a tunnel."
"You tunneled here?"
"No, it was paved."
"They paved over your tunnel?"
"No, on the inside. We walked."
"What? Through the sky?"
